Its pretty simple and not complicated. All you need to do is just follow the simple steps listed below and you’re good to go.
The first thing we need is the factory image of Android 4.4.4 for the Nexus KitKat 5. Incidentally, this tutorial explains how to downgrade the Nexus 5, but actually applies to any Nexus if we replace the factory image by applicable.

Steps to Downgrade Nexus

  1. First of all you need to download factory image of Android 4.4 for Nexus from theGoogle Official Blog.
  2. After download is complete store it in your PC.
  3. Now download the ADB tools in case if you don’t have in your PC.
  4. Move the factory image of Android 4.4 to ADB tools and then unzip the Fatory image.
  5. Now make sure you have USB Debugging tool enabled in your Nexus. If not got to setting > Developers > Enable USB Debugging.

  7. Now turn of your Nexus Device.
  8. Now press together the Power button and the volume down button to start fastboot mode. This will head you to Recovery Mode. (Use the volume keys to navigate up and down.)
  9. Now first select wipe cache partion, afterwards wipe data/factory reset.
  10. Now open that ABD tools folder which you have downloaded and double click on lyrics all.bat icon. After that the process shall begin it may take couple of minutes make sure you don’t remove the USB cable.
  11. After then when the process will be completed then automatically your Nexus 5 will restart and Android 4.4 Kitkat will be running in your System.
