Homemade Natural Lip Gloss
People always buy cosmetics from beauty shops, have you ever
wondered how much chemicals it consists and how it may harm you in long run?
The worst side effect of over using these lip balms and lip glosses is chapped lips
itself. Some ingredients in lip gloss can lead to tendency of using the product
more frequently and thus leads to chapped lips.
In this DIY, I teach you guys to make your own lip gloss at
home. It’s easy and natural. I use as much organic materials as possible.
Now, let’s begin with the DIY.
Ingredients
1 tbsp – Castor Oil
½ tbsp – Sesame Seed Oil
½ tbsp – Coconut Oil
1 tbsp – Honey
½ tbsp – Beeswax
1 tbsp – Petroleum Jelly
Few drops of Food Coloring
3 tbsp of Mica Mineral (you can use your colored cosmetic
powder but I recommend mica mineral)
1 tbsp of Vitamin E (Optional)
Preparation
We are using a double boiler method in this DIY.
Place a saucepan with approx. 2½ inches of water over medium
heat. Place a glass/metal bowl in the saucepan (double boiler method). Add
castor oil, sesame seed oil and coconut oil to the bowl. Mix it well. Add
honey, beeswax and petroleum jelly next and stir it thoroughly. Add 4 to 6
drops of your preferred food color. I used red food coloring. Stir. Add mica mineral,
vitamin e and few drops of your favorite natural extract (optional). Stir it well.
Pour the mixture into your favorite lip gloss container. Let
it cool before you place the lids on.
Your lip gloss is ready to use. Have fun!!!
